You need Eyeball Engineering's Torque Bar for Type 1 VW's. Our TORQUE BAR is one of the best available due to the ease of installation. We have incorporated inner flanges that bolt together and make the installation very simple. this system also gives the bar more strength. We have moved the support bars inward to clear any exhaust, including heat exchangers. The bar itself is 1 1/2" DOM tubing with .120 wall
